Artist Biography
Amged Higazi is a Muscat based Sudanese painter, illustrator and graphic designer. Amged was born in Omdurman, the national city of Sudan, The major corpus of Amged’s work are explorations of his artistic legacy, cultural heritage and Sudanese traditions. His works are full of references to the ancient Nubian architectural designs, calligraphic motifs, urban and rural Sudanese landscapes and African mask like figures among many others.The Show is his first in the UK and includes some of his older artistic adventures before looking forward to his current artistic stage. Amged has previously held exhibitions in India. Oman and Sudan among other locations, both as an individual artist and in group exhibitions.
